Eligibility CriteriaEducational Qualification
Pass in 10th Standard from a recognized Board or Institute.
Driving Requirements
Possession of a valid driving license for both light and heavy motor vehicles.
Knowledge of motor mechanism (ability to remove minor defects in vehicles).
At least 3 years of experience in driving light and heavy motor vehicles (relaxable at the discretion of authorities for certain categories like Scheduled Castes/Tribes if sufficient candidates are not available).

Selection ProcessThe examination is conducted in two stages:
Stage I: Theory Test (80 marks, 90 minutes)
Multiple-choice questions in English, Hindi, or Gujarati.
Covers: General Knowledge, Simple Arithmetic, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Motor Mechanism, Traffic Rules/Signals, Road Safety, etc.
Qualifying marks: SC/ST – 33% per paper; OBC/EWS – 37%; Others – 40% (relaxed if reservations available).
Stage II: Practical Test (20 marks, 40 minutes)
Identification of defects and minor repairs.
Heavy motor vehicle driving skills (synchro speed/gear, clutch, accelerator, control, steering, reversing, etc.).
