Earthquake News: Earthquake shocks many places including Lucknow, magnitude 5.2 on Richter scale

UP News: Earthquake tremors were also felt in Sitapur. At around 1.16 in the night, a strong shock of earthquake was suddenly felt. People said that the shock was so strong that the coolers and fridges kept in the houses shook for a while. There was an earthquake in Uttarakhand yesterday too.

Several districts including Lucknow and Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh felt tremors late in the night. The magnitude of the earthquake, which occurred at around 1.16 pm, was measured at 5.2 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was 139 km north-northeast of Lucknow at a depth of 82 km.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in Bahraich. People reported that after returning from watching Janmashtami, they felt tremors while they were sleeping. According to people, the incident happened around 1:15 am.

Shock in Uttarakhand
Earlier on Friday, mild tremors were felt in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh area, measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale. Another earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale struck south-southwest of Henle village in Jammu and Kashmir, NCS said.
